A Joint 40th Festival

Party loving couple J & K wanted to celebrate their joint 40th with a private music festival in the garden of their new home in West Sussex. But it soon became apparent that, due to an extensive delay in their scheduled house renovations, we needed a plan B.

Sourcing the Perfect Spot

But not to fear! Our extensive venue database meant we had no problem finding the perfect location for their festival party just minutes from our couple’s home.

The next step was to manage the guest list and to create an exciting set of web pages – a great way for guests to keep up to date with latest music announcements. In addition to this it featured a comprehensive list of FAQs and even the ability to book a pre-pitched gorgeous bell tent. We built in the ability for guests to share their pictures after the party which provided a great memento of the event.

Inventive Food Options and A Variety of Seating

With a keen interest in top quality, interesting food J & K decided on multiple street food vendors around the arena to create an authentic festival feel. With an eye on the detail we sourced a wonderful and eclectic group of traders all serving their top quality nosh from converted vehicles.

A converted VW camper van as a cocktail bar, a Landrover Defender cleverly converted into a wood-fired pizza oven and a lovely old Citroen H Van converted into a crepe van. An authentic paella stand and an amazing Argentinean BBQ meant guests did not go hungry!

We created a wonderful festival arena centred on two giant tipis for the 120 guests. A number of quirky seating areas meant there were plenty of spaces for guests to sit, relax and eat. Rustic benches around fire bowls and hessian covered hay bales with ‘outdoor/indoor’ floor lamps.  Thick warm blankets kept guests warm even in the smallest of early morning hours. Our photo booth friends at Megabooth came along and were as popular as ever.

A little helping hand

Roaming entertainment featured throughout the event!

Comedic festival stewards hindered rather than helped guests check into their luxurious bell tents. Elegant stilt walkers with human poodles mingled with guests within the festival arena. Delightful puppet characters stole the show with their witty two old travellers Hodman and Sally act.

Huge music fans, our couple had seen singer songwriter James Bay playing live and so asked us to book him for Blockstock. Happy to oblige and headlining the main stage it was quite a night!  Along with support acts from The Intermission Project and Bare Knuckle Parade this kept the live music flowing all night.

A hugely popular DJ set from rising star Ridney took the partying to another level and a hilarious silent disco heralded the end of the musical entertainment.

We love a good party!

“FIAB designed and delivered the party of our lives...It was unbelievable. The whole process from start to finish was thoroughly enjoyable , just working with Eleanor and Beckie, who are constantly upbeat, smiling and enthusiastic about the whole affair was great. We really felt involved in every decision along the way. There is NOTHING we wished for at the party which Eleanor and Beckie didn't deliver. I guess the ultimate reference comes with answers to two simple questions; Would we change anything? absolutely not, no. not ever. NO. Will we do it all again? the answer to that is an unequivocal yes. definitely, 1000 times yes.”
