A Stunning Setting

It was hard to go wrong with this venue. A picturesque lakeside retreat tucked away in the Surrey countryside, it was true delight to throw the most magical evening celebration. Dense woodland giving way to long sweeping lawns and an enticing waist deep crescent shaped lake.

An Imaginative Reception

After checking in at the campsite and meandering through the delicately decorated woodland, guests were greeted with a welcome drink of pink fizz from the clients very own vineyard. We were incredibly lucky with the weather and the evening was warm and balmy.

Delicious canapés were circulated by the brilliant girls at Ebbie’s Kitchen. Trays upon trays of peaches with mozzarella and orange blossom oil, halloumi courgette fritters and Kataifi prawn brochettes (to name but a few!) spilled out of the kitchen. The scrupulous guys at Prairie Rose whipped up a selection of cocktails from their gleaming airstream bar.  A outdoor seating area with afghan rugs and high poseur tables and chairs meant guests could sit and look out on the stunning scenery.

An aerial performer hung from a tree and delighted those around her, whilst they sipped on passionfruit martinis and watched the sunset, turning the sky to candy floss with its pastel pink colours.

A Magical Dinner

An al fresco dinner followed with bowls upon bowls of steaming hot food flooding from the kitchen for guests to share and pass around – Mediterranean style. Pan fried sea bass and sumptuous rare roast beef were the main event, followed by ruby golden beetroot, roasted hazelnut and blood orange, roasted new potatoes and summer squash.

Rich gooey chocolate and raspberry brownies piled on wooden boards were offered as dessert, alongside Rhubarb fools.

Beautiful British Blooms

Décor was simple and elegant with muted tones. The wonderful Pockets put together delicate British blooms in a Japanese style of ‘Ikebana’ in a selection of glass fluted vases.  Large tropical plants adorned the bar area.  Overhead we hung a installation of paper umbrellas covered in soft greens and frothy white florals.

Electric Evening Entertainment

We worked with the band to curate an explosive evening of entertainment. From fire breathers and flapper dancers to burlesque followed by the infectious beats of electro swing. We have never seen a dance floor full so quickly and guests were enthralled from the end of dinner right up until the very early hours. Truly a celebration to remember!

Secret Spaces

What is better than stumbling upon hidden spots as the evening draws to a close? A Mongolian yurt, tucked close to the lakeside with fire bowls to stave off the early morning chill. A perfect spot for those wanting to escape the dance floor and cosy up for some late night chats.

“I couldn’t believe how much I could enjoy my own party and as Tom said the Swingers were just incredible . Our kids and friends just couldn’t get enough of them !! The DJ was superb especially coming on so late into the evening - I hardly left the dance floor all night - only to get a refill of those passion fruit Martinis which were the best !!
